Fishermen Feast 2026

It’s that time of year for the Laborie Fishers and Consumers Cooperative and its members the Fishers and Consumers of Laborie who promise to bring Laborie alive on Monday, June 29 with the vibrant traditions of the Fishermen’s Feast 2026, a day dedicated to honouring our fishing community and celebrating the heritage of coastal livelihoods.

Morning Devotions

The day begins at 8:00 AM with a Mass at the Church of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Laborie Parish, offering prayers in honour of Saint Peter, patron saint of fishers, and in thanksgiving and blessings for our fishers and their families.

Parade & Blessings

Following the Mass, the festivities continue with the traditional Parade of Fishers down High Street, a colorful procession displaying the pride and unity of our fishing community. At the Laborie Jetty, vessels will receive the Blessing of the Boats, a cherished ritual of thanks for harvests gone by and ensuring safe journeys and bountiful harvests from the sea in the year to come.

Honoring Our Fishers

The celebration also features the Presentation of Awards to Fishers, recognizing dedication, skill, longevity, and contributions to sustaining our community’s maritime traditions.

Grand Finale

The day’s festivities culminate with Celebrations hosted at various locations on the waterfront hosted by the local Fishers and their friends.
