Fisherman’s Feast

The Fisherman’s Feast, also known as Fѐt Péchѐ, is celebrated annually in Saint Lucia on June 29. This event honors the contributions of fishermen and coastal communities, giving thanks to the sea for providing sustenance. Activities in the past included boat racing, tug of war, educational lectures, and a ceremonial blessing of fishing boats. The celebration is significant for the fishing sector and the blue economy, with the Laborie Fishers and Consumers Cooperative assuming the lead role in planning and organising the festivities.
